One of our coworkers and super member, Katarina Smelikova recently visited two Loop spaces when travelling to Perth – find out about Kat’s experience!…

In May, I spent an extended period of time in Perth and so I took my “mobile” office with me. The Loop Membership came up so I had thought this would be a great opportunity to try on a different coworking experience in Perth.

1. SyncLabs

SyncLabs is located in Leederville, which has always been on my list to explore, as I wanted to visit the nearby bakery “Strange Grains“. I got the opportunity to work at SyncLabs for a day, and thanks to my Loop Membership, it didn’t cost me anything!

The layout of this hub is one big, open-plan office with 20+ office desks, split by dividing walls. It took me a little while to find the host, but finally I discovered the manager works in the downstairs café.

SynchLab operates from 8:00 am – 6:00 pm (Monday to Friday). I’m certain that coffee addicts would appreciate a coffee in the nearby coffee place “Cranked” which has a free wi-fi and is a suitable place for a business meeting if you have to work earlier.

2. Claisebrook Design Community

Claisebrook Design Community is located on Gladstone Street in Claisebrook (near the train station). This hub felt like an old warehouse with one open-plan office (smaller than SyncLabs) that is available to all members and also visitors. The main co-working area is surrounded by a few smaller offices which are rented long-term.

There is a small cafe at the main entrance of the building which offers a nice lunch including GF options at very reasonable prices. Everyone was very pleasant, easy-going and happy to help with any queries. I worked in this hub a couple of days as the location is very central. My Loop Membership allowed me to work here one day at no cost.

This hub was open very conveniently from 7:00 am – 5:00 pm (Monday to Friday). I really loved this place as they were “dog-friendly” and invited our Cindy to pop in when she’s next in Perth with me. How awesome!
