Staffing Changes

Staffing changes present exciting opportunities

As we embark into 2017, I would like to share with you some changes in regards to Samille  Mitchell and Andrew Outhwaite’s roles within Pollinators, and the exciting opportunities  these changes will likely create.

Sadly, Samille has recently tendered her resignation as Community Lead. With a recent  change in family circumstances and commitment to growth of her own Inspired venture,  Samille has made the decision that she can no longer give the role everything it deserves and requires. Samille has made an incredible contribution to the organisation in her relatively short time with us, and I would like to take this opportunity to publicly thank her for all her efforts and just for being the amazing person she is. We all wish her well and look forward to her continued input as a Pollinators ‘super-member’.

In addition to this change, I can also announce that Andrew Outhwaite will be transitioning from his Learning Lead role and focusing on facilitating Meshpoints, an emerging network of similar ventures and spaces around WA. In this role, Andrew will be working closely with Spacecubed in Perth, and groups in Albany, Port Hedland, Newman and others to leverage and learn from each other’s strengths. We’re excited that Pollinators itself, as well as our members like GUC, Shine and Comedy Emporium, have developed models that can spread benefits far beyond our region while still being based here.

So, what does this mean for Pollinators? Like any healthy organisation, Pollinators will be taking this opportunity to review our organisational structure and how we run each of our service areas. We are aiming to finalise the new structure within the next week and it is likely to lead to the advertising of one or more exciting opportunities for the appropriately skilled person in our community.

Samille Mitchell will continue as Community Lead role until a replacement structure is decided and recruitment completed. The amazing Angie West will be continuing in the Space Lead role. Andrew will continue to support the organisation, mentor others and be a super-member!

This is an exciting time for our organisation as we rocket into 2017. I look forward to being able to communicate shortly in regards to further developments on our future structure and opportunities.

Yours Sincerely,
Paul Dyer
Chair – Pollinators Inc.
