Taste of Geraldton - Degustation Event - Community (6)

Fine dining under the stars

Geraldton residents will have the chance to experience fine dining under the stars at the hands of travelling chefs Fervor.

The highly sought after Fervor team will offer two eight-to-12-course degustation experiences to around 40 guests in an outdoor setting overlooking sweeping countryside south of Geraldton on October 14 and 15.

Two Pollinators members, Pam Sherlock and Emma Jackson, organised the visit after considering innovative ideas to further Geraldton.

They sought to promote the region’s amazing local produce by offering a pop-up restaurant – an idea that has morphed into the Fervor degustation experience.

Fervor chefs are renowned for using fresh local ingredients, including bush foods, and transforming them into culinary delights. They are also noted for placing special emphasis on respecting local communities, traditional owners and businesses to promote the beauty and assets of each region.

With strong ties to the land and environment, Fervor leaves no trace of an event upon completion.

“We’re so excited to have chefs of this standard showcase all the amazing produce we have here in the Mid West,” Ms Sherlock said.

“It will be an amazing chance to not only enjoy fine dining under the stars, but also to truly appreciate how much wonderful food we produce here – think lobster, marron, kangaroo and pearl meat as well as bush foods such as quandong, sandalwood nut, wild rosella and lemon myrtle.

“This is no ordinary ‘out for dinner’ – it’s a five-hour dining experience.”

The dinner will be served from a stunning lookout on Gunnado Farm in Walkaway.

The ticket price of $245 includes bus transport to and from Geraldton.

Diners should bring their own drinks (and eskies).

All money raised from the event will become seed funding for future innovation and start up projects in the Geraldton community, supported by Pollinators.

Pollinators’ mission is to nurture people and innovations that support healthy, resilient communities.
