Member Morning Meetup — First Wednesday

Connect, collaborate and create with Pollinators members at our regular First Wednesday Member Meetup.

The greatest attraction is meeting and chatting with other members. And, occasionally specific topics and guests are sourced through our membership: suggest a speaker or topic for a future event.

These events generally feature:

  • Casual, open agenda so you can come and leave when it suits you,
  • Pollinators staff or Board members will be on-hand to do introductions and share any news and ‘host’ the conversation,
  • A diverse mix of people from across business, government, charities and more.

RSVP is appreciated.

This month we’ll be focusing on ‘What shall we do together in 2015?’

Each year Pollinators Inc invests time in evaluating the year just gone. During this time, we:

  • Check-in and strengthen personal connections with and amongst members,
  • Understand member needs, aspirations and opportunities,
  • Consider changes to our services, programs and communications.

On Wednesday 4th February we’ll share thoughts about year’s program of events, services and programs, including:

  • Learning, insights statistics and stories from 2014,
  • Highlights of the feedback and suggestions we’ve been hearing from members,
  • What is in the pipeline for 2015.

We’re very openly considering any changes that could ensure the health and resilience of your ventures, Pollinators, and our communities this year, and how that will set the tone for our strategy to 2015.

You can also grab great food and a coffee from our generous sponsors:

Culinary HQ will give members (present your membership card) a 20% discount on coffee and items from our pastry counter (excluding Macarons). Valid between 7 and 9am on the First Wednesday of the month.

Jaffle Shack will give members (present your membership card) a $2 discount on Jaffles and $0.50 discount on coffees. Valid between 7 and 9am on the First Wednesday of the month.

Guests:

Tim Spiteri is part of the crew attempting one of the last great challenges of human endeavour and endurance: rowing over 8,500 kilometres from Western Australia to South Africa, non-stop and without support. No rowing crew has ever made this crossing non-stop as most crews end their journey in Mauritius which is at least 1700 kilometres from mainland Africa. Each rower will man the oars for two hours followed by two hours of rest in a continuous shift cycle. With such a shift pattern, the aim is to complete the journey in approximately 50-70 days. Tim wants to make this voyage more than an epic adventure, he want to raise money for MS Australia – the Multiple Sclerosis Society. MS Australia is close to Tim’s heart as his mother suffers from the disease.

Some of Tim’s fellow crew members will also join. Each has their own unique story, history and cause or passion they’re pursuing. Amongst them are scientists, photographers, adventurers and sailors who have:

  • Rowed the Atlantic,
  • Cycled across Asia,
  • Swum the English Channel,
  • Raised tens of thousands of dollars for different charities and causes through their adventures.

Read more about them by clicking below:

In response to member feedback Pollinators are kicking off a new monthly social gathering, in partnership with The Provincial. The events will feature:

  • MC Rosie Sitorus to facilitate connections and laughter,
  • A compelling question that everyone can consider, discuss and learn from,
  • Special guests to share their stories,
  • Discounted drinks thanks to an extended Happy Hour for event attendees across at The Provincial.

This month, entry will be by donation with all proceeds going to MS Australia. You can also donate additional funds online before or after the event by clicking on the image below:
