Professional Development for Designers and Creatives: Peer Learning Session

Being a designer or creative in regional WA can be a great lifestyle and also a challenge to sustain yourself, find your niche, compete against local and Perth-based designers and stay ahead of the game. There are also many ways to use your skills for profitably and purposefully, whether it be freelancing, working with a select number of large clients, or creating beautiful products (or buildings!) that people love. Creative professionals also make a disproportionally large contribution to the look, feel and character of regional communities and cities.

This Peer Learning Session focuses on the professional, career and business development opportunities for creatives and graphic designers.

Attend if you are involved in graphic design, marketing, branding, interior design or similar industries and want to learn with and from and with other members about these sorts of opportunities.

This conversation may cover everything from the best e-learning platforms for maintaining your skills, guest speakers or professional development opportunities we can create, or sharing each other’s latest creations or cooperation on increasing the profile and size of the local creative industries.

Peer Learning Sessions are forums for members to share their ideas, tips, tricks or opinions with other members.

Peer Learning Sessions are:

• Free for members who should RSVP (below)
• Scheduled based on member demand by submissions or via discussions in our online forums
• Lead by members, often with peers who have similar interests or expertise,
• Held at CityHive, BYO food with tea, coffee provided,
• May be documented with a blog or further discussions online to share the learning with those who couldn’t attend.
