Get ready for a fun night out filled with live music, good food and drink, singing and dancing… Dance for a Difference is here Geraldton!
Dance for a Difference will be a social event held at PCYC, aimed at giving an opportunity for young adults with disabilities to sing, dance and mingle with other members of the community.
“My inspiration for this event was my co-worker and good friend Sam Harris, a very lovable young man with autism,” said Community Lead of Pollinators and Event Organiser, Kirsty Kipling.
“Currently there are no places in Geraldton where these awesome members of our community can connect with others, feel comfortable and express their uniqueness while having lots of fun,” said Kirsty.
Pollinators made it possible for Kirsty to pitch at their recent GeroSoup event which helped raise $305 towards the project.
Dance for a Difference is an 18+ event with a pop-up bar. Everyone above the age of 18 is invited and welcome to come along.
Tickets are $15+gst per person to cover the cost of food canapes and one free drink upon arrival. Tickets can be purchased via Eventbrite>
Proudly supported by Pollinators Inc, Ngala and PCYC, with funding from WA Country Builders and generous members of the local community.
With live music provided in-kind and performed by local band Left of the Line.
This community project is a part of the Ngala LEAD program for future leaders. We hope to make events like this one a regular occurrence, so they can continue to happen and positively impact on people’s lives in our community for years to come.
