Pollinators members gathered on Friday 22nd May to celebrate and reflect on the challenges and changes from the 2014 financial year, and share in the Board’s aspirations for a connected, collaborative, creative and ‘disruptive’ future for the organisation.
Far from a traditional AGM, Pollinators ‘Awesome Gathering of Members’ featured the first GeroSoup crowd-funding event with 3 creative environmental projects receiving investment from the crowd, and presentation of the organisation’s new strategic plan and report on member satisfaction. This combination of activities at one event embodies Pollinators values:
“Connected. Collaborative. Creative.”
The reports focused on a year of growth and new challenges for our organisation, with consolidation of some established programs and the development of new ones. There was a long list of achievements and highlights from 2015, including:
- 54 new members joining,
- 540 meetings hosted at CityHive,
- Flock, Startup Weekend, Catalyst and Swarm events being unique and leading programs in regional WA,
- Digital initiatives like Digital Enterprise Training and the Learning Marketplace being progressed.
Pollinators continues to grow its reach and influence in the region as an organisation that gets things done through the hard work of our staff and Board and the incredibly talents and energy of our membership. Sincere appreciation was expressed to all the organisations supporters, partners, sponsors, staff, contractors and last, but not least, our incredible members for the contribution they are all making to our shared vision for the region:
“By 2020 Greater Geraldton will be globally-recognised as a model for sustainable communities”
Changes to the pricing and structure of membership, coworking and other services were announced, all driven by member feedback and intended to enable the members and organisation to thrive and stimulate helpful “disruption” both locally and nationally in service of the Mission:
“To nurture people and innovations that enable healthy, resilient communities”
Changes were also confirmed in the membership of the voluntary Board. Departures after great service and contributions include:

New Directors elected were:

- John Gourley,
- Jane Bagshaw.
